I've been riding the bus a lot lately. In the vain attempt that it might bring me somewhere that I haven't been. But I always head to the same destination, where the graffiti on the walls has aged and on top of it all, there are no windows. There are no bridges to be built There are no Saturday night slurred speeches spoken through the intercom of my sleep, my castle walls are being breeched and you're too hard to reach.

In a year or so, abstract paintings of who I used to be will be up on display in my glass house for all to see. It's a place that I call home where I've been throwing stones, to break free A year or so ago, I was sailing towards the coast in a glass boat. Hoping to find you waiting alone, with your arms stretched wide, so I could sink into your eyes. So we held hands and walked slowly down the sea towards our glass house on the beach.

I was writing songs about wanting to die When along came the wind, and she swept me off my feet. I was always trying to do my best. Then I realized that my best, was only half of what I could be. When we grow old, we can die alone, at the Cadillac Motel. But while we are young, let's cut our ties, and set sail towards hell. Remember how we used to laugh with our paper cut hearts, dressed up in black. I was trying not to change, but my black t-shirts, began wearing away the shame of never having seen brighter days. When we grow old, we can die alone, at the Cadillac Motel. But while we are young, let's cut our ties, and set sail towards hell.

Don't want to be free of hope but I'm at the end of my rope. It's so hard just to be alive, when I feel like the living dead. You're giving it up so plain I'm living my life in vain, so where am I going to? I gotta really try, try so hard to get by, and where am I going to? I don't know where is up or down and there ain't anywhere left around. Everybody wearing a frown, waiting for Santa to come to town. I'm giving it up so plain, You're living your lives in vain, and where are you going to? You gotta really try, try so hard to get by, and where are you going to? Flip on your TV, and try to make sense out of that. If we were all in the movies, maybe we wouldn't be so bored. You're giving it up so plain we're living our lives in vain, and where are we going to? We gotta really try, try so hard to get by, and where are you going to? Goodbye, Goodbye

While you were crying in the front seat of your car I sat alone. I was reminded how life has passed me by. As I wrote with pain stained finger tips I used the streetlights to find some reason on a page, through the lens of a camera that knows what I've seen more than I ever have. I am dead behind these bloodshot eyes. This heart of mine has become blind. I guess these stars of mine have died. I guess these stars of mine have faded in these city lights.
